What is SafAI?
SafAI protects personal data in AI chat. It detects PII in your prompts on your device, replaces it with anonymous tokens before anything is sent to an AI service, and restores your real details in the response on your screen.
How does SafAI detect PII without sharing it with cloud AI?
SafAI runs all detection on your device before your prompt is sent.
It combines pattern matching (for structured data like emails and phone numbers) with a local detection engine that recognises names, organisations and other personal details in context. No cloud service is used to find or classify your personal information.
Which AI chat tools does SafAI support?
Claude, via the SafAI Chrome extension. ChatGPT and Gemini are on the roadmap. The SafAI desktop app must be running locally.
How does the free trial work?
Download the SafAI desktop app and sign up with email. No credit card required. You get 14 days of full access.
When your trial ends, choose monthly, yearly, or lifetime; Stripe billing applies only then.
Can I buy Lifetime during the trial?
Yes. All plans, including Lifetime, are chosen after you start your trial in the app. Payment via Stripe happens when you select a paid plan.
Which platforms can I download today?
macOS Apple Silicon is available now. Windows and macOS Intel are coming soon.
What does “100% local processing” mean?
PII detection, scrubbing, storage and unscrubbing run entirely on your device.
Account information used for subscriptions is managed on an EU-hosted server.

What is token memory?
SafAI maintains up to 5000 anonymised token mappings per session so names and values stay consistent across a conversation. Mappings from documents, and any you add yourself, are kept for the whole session. Chat mappings are replaced oldest-first if you reach the limit.
